Should We Be Afraid of Artificial Intelligence?

After waiting the shipment for around 2 days, finally my book has arrived today. The title is Elon Musk, Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a fantastic future. It is written by Ashlee Vance. By reading the title, I guess you already have some idea what it is about. Most of the companies that I have mentioned before sound familiar, right? Elon Musk is the guy behind all of those companies. This book starts with how Ashlee Vance met Elon Musk for the first time. On the first 3 pages, Ashlee tries to define Elon Musk as an Alpha Man. He has this authentic character and extraordinary way of thinking. Elon Musk’s major fear is technology of artificial-intelligence-enhanced robot capable of destroying humans. He is concerned about his very close friend, Larry Page, Google’s CEO and cofounder who keeps improving Artificial Intelligence (AI). Since then, I have been looking at some pros and cons about AI. I think the combination of human and AI is such a perfect match. They are fulfilling each other. However, the machine computer-based work is more accurate in calculating things. The chance of making some error is getting lower every day. That’s why AI is now considered to be a core company and the most important business element. AI is basically just a tool. It needs human to tell them what to do. It is designed to make human’s job easier instead of replacing it. Some research found out that 4 out of 5 companies think that AI is creating more jobs for their company. As it is mentioned on this article, this self-learning algorithm program contributes very well to improve costumer experience. It is also creating more jobs because of the challenge that we are facing now,’how to optimize AI as a platform’. To know the answer, companies need more engineers and professional employees related on this field. http://tinyurl.com/ybactnga I guess we don’t have to worry about this for now. I will keep reading this exciting book by the way. 434 pages are still a long way to go. Stay tuned for the next post!
