Should We Be Afraid of Artificial Intelligence?

After waiting the shipment for around 2 days, finally my book has arrived today. The title is Elon Musk, Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a fantastic future. It is written by Ashlee Vance. By reading the title, I guess you already have some idea what it is about. Most of the companies that I have mentioned before sound familiar, right? Elon Musk is the guy behind all of those companies. This book starts with how Ashlee Vance met Elon Musk for the first time. On the first 3 pages, Ashlee tries to define Elon Musk as an Alpha Man. He has this authentic character and extraordinary way of thinking. Elon Musk’s major fear is technology of artificial-intelligence-enhanced robot capable of destroying humans. He is concerned about his very close friend, Larry Page, Google’s CEO and cofounder who keeps improving Artificial Intelligence (AI). Since then, I have been looking at some pros and cons about AI. I think the combination of human and AI is such a perfect match. They are fulfilling each other. However, the machine computer-based work is more accurate in calculating things. The chance of making some error is getting lower every day. That’s why AI is now considered to be a core company and the most important business element. AI is basically just a tool. It needs human to tell them what to do. It is designed to make human’s job easier instead of replacing it. Some research found out that 4 out of 5 companies think that AI is creating more jobs for their company. As it is mentioned on this article, this self-learning algorithm program contributes very well to improve costumer experience. It is also creating more jobs because of the challenge that we are facing now,’how to optimize AI as a platform’. To know the answer, companies need more engineers and professional employees related on this field. http://tinyurl.com/ybactnga I guess we don’t have to worry about this for now. I will keep reading this exciting book by the way. 434 pages are still a long way to go. Stay tuned for the next post!

Blockchain vs Corruption

This evening, my Instagram story was full of updates from my friends in Indonesia. It was all about a guy named Setya Novanto, the head of People’s Representative Council (or also known in Indonesia as the DPR), has been suspected in a corruption case. What’s special about this guy, is that he faked his own car accident, when polices were looking to arrest him. That is why it was like echoing as a joke on my social media. However, corruption cases are pretty common in Indonesia, so Indonesian people are used to that. Due to my twitter assignment, I started learning about block chain a couple of weeks ago. Well, this might sound old-fashioned now, but really, this technology is going to be something special. Many tech-engineers predict that block chain is going to be as big as the launch of internet was a couple years ago. A block chain is a digital decentralised ledger that is used to track digital currencies such as bitcoin and all transactions of this currency around the wo...

Some Reasons behind Alibaba's Success

Hello everyone! It’s almost winter. I am very excited because it means Christmas is coming really soon. Christmas is one thing that I love about Europe, since Indonesia does not have a winter season. I can even already feel the vibe since this morning, when the song All I want for Christmas is you by Mariah Carey played on the radio. Well, talking about Christmas, be ready to freeze. I personally have already prepared by stocking winter clothes, such as super thick jacket, sweater, boots, etc. Those were all on my list and now, thanks to Alibaba. Despite many people not liking to buy goods from China, Alibaba is still a good webstore in my opinion. They offer a lot of variety of goods with extremely interesting price. One thing you have to do is to check the seller reviews . Some of the sellers have very good quality products. Additionally, the delivery process is bearable. In my experiences, it took between 2-3 weeks to deliver it from China to Belgium. In Indonesia, Alibaba is get...
