Some Reasons behind Alibaba's Success

Hello everyone! It’s almost winter. I am very excited because it means Christmas is coming really soon. Christmas is one thing that I love about Europe, since Indonesia does not have a winter season. I can even already feel the vibe since this morning, when the song All I want for Christmas is you by Mariah Carey played on the radio. Well, talking about Christmas, be ready to freeze. I personally have already prepared by stocking winter clothes, such as super thick jacket, sweater, boots, etc. Those were all on my list and now, thanks to Alibaba. Despite many people not liking to buy goods from China, Alibaba is still a good webstore in my opinion. They offer a lot of variety of goods with extremely interesting price. One thing you have to do is to check the seller reviews. Some of the sellers have very good quality products. Additionally, the delivery process is bearable. In my experiences, it took between 2-3 weeks to deliver it from China to Belgium. In Indonesia, Alibaba is getting more attention, since e-commerce is becoming a new trend. I am trying to understand why Alibaba is booming so hard lately. Here are three reasons why Alibaba is so successful according to me.
The first reason is Alibaba focuses on local enterprises and buyers. It motivates smaller (and of course, local) enterprises to produce better products. Alibaba does not charge any fees for sellers who wants to sell their product on Alibaba’s website. It increases the number of sellers and it gives buyers more options and variety.
The second reason is its safety payment platform, which is well-known as AliPay. AliPay has a role as a bridge between consumers and e-stores to regulate payment processes and to protect consumer’s rights. It helps to develop a good and trustworthy reputation among customers. I actually love this Alipay feature because the company will hold on to your money until the goods that you bought arrived safely and without any damage.

The third reason: Alibaba cares a lot about customers satisfaction. Therefore, it is improving itself as a leader in developing customer loyalty. Alibaba always keeps an eye on customers’ evolving needs, and they do it in earnest way. To the USA Today, Alibaba said that they will invest around $15 billion into a global network of research labs to advance their technology. The investment would be used to establish research facilities over the next three years in China, the United States, Russia, Israel and Singapore. Alibaba wants to focus on technology such as quantum computing, connected devices (well-known as Internet of Things), and artificial intelligence including interaction between humans and machines. As most of the futuristic CEOs believe, Jack Ma, Alibaba’s CEO, predicts robots will eventually replace human in doing tasks and artificial intelligence will fundamentally change the world. Take a look inside Alibaba's smart warehouse where 60 robots do 70% of the work without human’s help. It’s pretty cool.
